In the storage crate that contained BATTLE OF STALINGRAD: RUSSIA'S GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR by I M Baxter and Ronald Volstad I found three books of wargaming ORBATs written by Bob Mackenzie and published by Tac Publications.
The books are:
THE THIN GREY LINE: THE ORGANISATION OF THE GERMAN ARMY 1941 TO 1945
COMRADES IN ARMS: THE ORGANISATION OF THE SOVIET ARMY 1941 TO 1945
AXIS ALLIES ON THE OST FRONT
The books were published in 2000, 2000, and 2001 respectively.
The ORBATs are intended to be used with the following wargames rules:
In the same crate was a copy of Frank Chadwick's ARMIES OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR: VOLUME 1. This was sold as part of a boxed set along with the second edition of COMMAND DECISION rules as well as a separate booklet in its own right.
Finding these books will hopefully be of assistance to me when I begin serious work on my Eastern Front/Great Patriotic War campaign project, as will some of the other books that I have re-discovered.
